Poppies on Navy Blue Medium Long Silk Scarf

This luxurious ponge 5 silk scarf is soft, light and hangs well - perfect for everyday wear or a special gift.

This long silk scarf measures 150 x 40 cm (60 x 16"). It will go around the neck twice and tie. It is ideal to wear with a low-neck sweater. It has hand rolled and hand stitched edges into which I stitch my own label. The scarf is hand washable and washing instructions are included.

Handcrafted dye technique:
I hand painted five red poppies onto a wet scarf and dropped salt onto the centre of each poppy. The dye pulled the salt to create a unique poppy. Once dry, I used gold gutta to outline the poppies and then I painted the navy-blue background. The scarf was then steamed to fix the dye.

This scarf will remind you of summer and would be suitable for remembrance ceremonies.

As each piece is made by hand, every scarf is one-of-a-kind.
