Burgundy Red and Black Silk Wrap

This luxurious silk twill 12 and ponge 5 silk wrap is soft, light and hangs well - perfect to wear in the evening for a special occasion. It's wonderful for keeping the draughts away and weddings or cruises are places where this wrap would be useful.

This burgundy red and black silk wrap measures 210 x 51 cm (84 x 20"). This wrap has two sides which are dyed individually. The inside is a ponge 5 silk, whilst the outside is silk twill 12. The two pieces are then sewed together. I stitch my own label onto the inside. The wrap is hand washable. 

Handcrafted dye technique:
The two sides of this wrap are dyed individually. The inside is dyed in a pale burgundy red with a mottled effect using steam fix dyes. The outer is sprayed with black and burgundy red steam fix dyes. Then I drop salt onto the wet silk. When heat is applied, the salt pulls the dye into a unique pattern. The wrap is then steamed to fix the dye. I then machine stitch the two pieces of silk together.

As each piece is made by hand, every wrap is one-of-a-kind.
