Golden Yellow Silk Kaftan with Red and Orange Butterflies

This luxurious ponge 5 silk kaftan is soft, light and hangs well - perfect to wear around the house on hot summer days, or to wear over trousers for a loose evening top, and of course, at the pool or beach.

This golden yellow Silk Kaftan, featuring red and orange butterflies, measures 178 cm (70") around. If your bust or waist or hips are less than this it will fit. The length from the shoulder to the bottom is 89cm (35"). It has a 15cm (6") slit up each side. The arm hole slit is 38cm (15") long so will fit an arm less than 72cm (30") around. The kaftan is hand washable and washing instructions are included.

Handcrafted dye technique:
I sprayed the silk with golden yellow steam fix dye. Then I drew butterflies with gold gutta edges and then painted them red and orange. The silk was then left to dry. I then steamed the silk to fix the pattern. Then I machine stitched the edges and hand stitched the neck. 

As each piece is made by hand, every kaftan is one-of-a-kind.
