This square silk scarf measures 90 by 90 centimetres or 35 by 35 inches. It has hand rolled and stitched edges into which I sew my own label. It is large enough to wear around the shoulders, neck or head. I sprayed the silk with water. I then painted red poppies with a black centre around the edge of the scarf. Whilst still wet I dropped salt onto the black centres and left to dry. I then drew gold gutta around the edges of the poppies and left to dry. Finally I painted a navy background. The scarf is then steamed to fix the dye. The scarf is hand washable and washing instructions are included.
